    class / over laping div

Hi I tried to sign up for the language class but couldn’t reach the server at the time.  I will try later.

I have a question on testing your server support as I called the provider and was told me they didn’t run asp then I thought maybe they don’t know for sure.

Does this have to be the main page or can I connect it to my site I have in front page as a new page in the web.

My other question is on my web page one problem I’m still having local but on asp server looks fine.

I used the css layout header, nav 3 columns, footer template I added a calendar in the right content div.  And it over laps the page_conent div. is this something I should worry over or just let it stay as is.  I like things to look right so it bothers me.

I know you would more then likely like to view it but I don’t have a place right now.  As my web space has an fp 10-page site on it right now.   I looked for the link for the free asp server in the post and in my history just couldn’t find it again. Could you post the address?

     I'm confused by your questions.

If you mean the "testing your server" page you can upload it anywhere in your site, then just go to that page in your browser.

If you have a page that doesn't look right in a browser you need to post a url so we can see it. My guess is you are using postion:absolutel which is the most common cause for overlapping.

Did you try http://starttoweb.net/login.php to login to the free class?

Sorry I compounded two questionsTongue Tied

    1.  testing my server yes. that I can do. ( up load the page to see if it will run the aspx files) before I convert all ten pages over.)

2.The page I'm asking about that I just finished in EW I have no where to up load.

I have a 10 page personal web site with road runner done in frontpage 98.  Not sure how a aspx file along with htm files would react.

nor about how to attach the aspx file to a  htm page.

I saw in one of your answers  over on http://forums.expression.microsoft.com/ where asp.net offerd free hosting for this? I looked for the post

in the forums and in my history and couldn't find it.

    3. Yes I tried the link said the server was unreachable at the time.

I am now enrolled Big Smile

Re: class / over laping div

that was on my asp page. the one that crashed my site. I think.  any way I can't use a calendar and I'm working on the divs still.  Has a nice home page started.  Going to upload it to my site.

when I save it as I don' want to over write the page that is up there now...

Its asking me  A more recent version of cdsplace.htm has been saved to the server by XXXXXXXX\Owner on 7/7/2008 8:45 AM.

Do you want to replace this with your file?

I noticed that working with the same file name it updates all files on the web site and on my system.  And I think this is a really nice page  so I don't want anything to happen to it.  The videos really do help.  I seem to learn something from them each time I watch them.

I also looked at the code to my main page thats up now and saw it was a big mess.  Not sure what causes that as it didn't look that way when I uploaded the page.

I know it sounds crazy to ask  as I should have checked the site.  I'm going to go do that now before I leave the computer.  As I still have the page open in Expression.

Also left a post on the Expression Fourms.

Your post is confusing me, maybe I need more coffee but could you try explaining again perhaps with different words.

Re: class / over laping div

I'm sorry for confusing you. I might could use some coffee or sleep my self.  Not sure which one.     I went to save the page I was working on and it asked me if I wanted it to overwrite the file.

I have over written a few pages that I didn't want to on my system and the web site. I wasn't sure if it was asking me to over write the file on my local system or the web site.  while I was typing I came to me to check the site to see if the file had been uploaded so I did which told me it was talking about the file with in the web (local).

I have uploaded that file to my site. at http://web.tampabay.rr.com/locke/cdsplace.htm.

this bring up another question .

is there a way to have Expression not over write the files on the web site when you save them?  If there is I haven't found it yet.

In Front Page I always had to click on the publish button.  But Expression seems to update the pages on the site when I save them local.  It also updated the same page in a few other webs local.  Is a nice thing if thats what you want it to do.

But for me still in the learning stages wasn't a good thing.
